I had the opportunity to shoot and produce this vérité-style project, capturing John Vincent III in the thick of recording his album Oils. Designed as a fly-on-the-wall portrait, the film follows the raw, unfiltered highs and lows of the creative process, documenting the moments of inspiration, frustration, and breakthrough that come with making an album.

Being immersed in John’s world allowed me to frame the story with an intimate, unobtrusive lens—letting the music and the process speak for themselves. It was a rare chance to document an artist’s journey in real-time, embracing the unpredictability that comes with chasing something real.
